The 990’s original designers were tasked with creating the best running shoe on the market. The finished product exceeded all expectations. When it first hit shelves in 1982, the 990 featured an elegantly understated grey colorway and a triple-digit price tag that was unheard of at the time. For both avid runners and trendsetters, the 990 was a mark of quality and good taste. The design has been updated since 1982 and the color palette has expanded, but the 990’s aura of a status symbol has never changed. Simply put, the 990 is a shoe so good, we’ve never stopped making it.
The MADE in USA 990v4, originally launched in 2016, continued to refine the modernized silhouette introduced by the v3 with a streamlined mesh and pigskin suede upper and precise adjustments to the cushioning.
